Medicare is a form of medical insurance created by the federal government for seniors, and also people with certain disabilities and diseases. If someone that has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The only exception is, the individual will need to receive treatment coming from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to begin treatment, they will also have to see their doctor who must state that rehab services are medically necessary, and the physician will generally approve which kind of rehab the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover various kinds of rehab services. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility if the individual should be hospitalized because of their issue, along with the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
