Those that have TRICARE will naturally be required to get a prior authorization before partaking in any sort of rehabilitation service, which may be arranged using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility could be the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in this particular center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits concerning just how long a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very useful, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehab counselors ready to help today.
