A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a facility which offers continual support and help for folks in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for individuals with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. Rather than sending those who are struggling with substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar facility, a group home may help provide an acceptable environment to help individuals maintain stability inside their lives and still have counsel and support at their fingertips 24/7. Residents within a group home could be taking part in treatment services whilst in residence, or could be taking steps to get their life set up outside of the group home to enable them to at some time live on their own outside of the group home. By way of example, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or obtain work. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent solution, yet it's a practical short term option for many who making the effort to get their lives back together.
