Medicaid is a form of health care insurance available for many people who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to acquire this government funded insurance coverage. Whether someone qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and people shouldn't assume they don't qualify because they make a fair income. For example, people who have quite a few dependents may be eligible for Medicaid even if they earn what would be described as a reasonable income. Some states only cover outpatient rehabilitation services as an example while other states cover far more extensive treatment say for example a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. If anyone is involved with substance abuse and needs help, they can use their Medicaid insurance coverage to get this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid and in addition don't have the funds or any other kind of health care insurance to pay for rehabilitation, they can find out if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in an alcohol and drug treatment center which is approved inside their state.
