A group home for someone who has been involved in drug abuse is a facility which provides continual support and assistance for those in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for individuals with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. As opposed to sending individuals who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar place, a group home may help offer an appropriate environment to help individuals maintain stability in their lives and also have counsel and support within reach around the clock. Residents in a group home could be involved in treatment services whilst in residence, or could be taking steps to get their life set up outside of the group home so that they can at some time live independently outside the group home. By way of example, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent answer, however it is a viable short term option for individuals who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
