Medicare is a form of medical health insurance designed by the federal government for older folks, and also those that have specific disabilities and sicknesses. If someone that has Medicare needs rehab for instances of substance abuse, their treatment will be either covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant degree. The only real catch is, the person will have to acquire treatment from the drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin rehabilitation, they will also have to visit their primary care physician who must state that rehabilitation services are medically necessary, and the physician will generally approve which kind of treatment the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehab providers. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual should be hospitalized for his or her issue, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as any other stay in a hospital. Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment in the Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
