TRICARE is medical health insurance that's provided to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse inside the military is much more common than one would think, and the need to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different rehabilitation services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, as well as rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will obviously be required to have a prior authorization before partaking in any type of rehabilitation service, which can be organized using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program could be the favored rehabilitation choice, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this particular center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits about how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment that may be very useful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehabilitation counselors standing by to assist you today.
