Individuals who want to maintain some flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab when they need treatment for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab allows for the treatment client to take part in treatment services without the commitment you might normally have to consent to within an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab facility. This doesn't often work in the treatment client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to resolve substantial substance abuse issues. So while an outpatient rehab may seem like a convenient option, it isn't for everyone. Those who choose an outpatient rehab will ordinarily attend meetings and be a part of counseling and rehab services on a part-time basis on a daily basis or several days weekly. This is helpful for those who have just completed an even more extensive inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, or someone with only a brief history of substance abuse which is usually a very small amount of clients. For someone with more severe drug abuse and dependency issues, inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities that provide rehab over a long-term basis will probably be the more beneficial rehab option.
