Medicaid is a type of medical health insurance available for many people who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government provided insurance coverage. Whether somebody qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend on their earnings however, and people shouldn't assume they don't qualify simply because they make a fair income. As an example, people who have many dependents may be entitled to Medicaid even when they make an amount be considered a reasonable income. Medicaid could also cover the price of treatment, if a person has been abusing alcohol or drugs and requires rehabilitation. There are numerous drug treatment programs which accept Medicaid, but different states have different guidelines for what forms of rehab are covered. Some states only cover outpatient rehabilitation services for instance while other states cover more intensive rehabilitation like a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. If anyone is involved with substance abuse and desires help, they are able to use their Medicaid health coverage to obtain this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid and also don't have the funds or some other form of health care insurance to cover rehab, they could find out if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center which is approved inside their state.
