Firstly, detecting an alcohol and drug abuse problem among the hearing impaired is generally a challenge, as these individuals may make an attempt to hide their issue due to social stigmas attached to abusing drugs. However, alcohol and drug rehabilitation counselors who offer rehabilitation to hearing impaired individuals see the challenges that these clients face. ASL rehabilitation services are of course a necessity, as are rehab services which address the unique challenges that hearing impaired individuals face. Group therapy gives a venue for important peer support so that rehab clients can know that they're not on their own, and that there's hope to resolve their challenge with alcohol and drugs. Individual therapy services might be more tailor-made for each individual so that their unique challenges can be addressed in rehab.
