Medicare is a type of health insurance developed by the federal government for senior citizens, along with people who have certain disabilities and illnesses. When someone who has Medicare needs treatment for instances of substance abuse, their rehab will either be covered completely by their Medicare insurance or to a great extent. The only real exception is, the person must receive treatment from the alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start treatment, they will also have to visit their doctor who must declare that rehab services are medically needed, and the physician will usually approve what type of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover various kinds of treatment solutions. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility in the event that the individual must be hospitalized for their problem, and also the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab within a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they've got to self pay.
