Outpatient rehab enables the treatment client to take part in rehabilitation services without the commitment one would usually have to consent to within an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility. So although an outpatient rehab might appear to be a convenient option, it isn't for everybody. This is often helpful for those who have recently completed an even more comprehensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, and for someone with only a short history of drug use which is usually a really small amount of clients. For somebody with more significant addiction and dependency problems, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab facilities which offer rehabilitation on a long-term basis will probably be the more beneficial treatment option.
