A group home for a person who has been involved in drug abuse is a facility which provides continuous support and help for people in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for people with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. Instead of sending individuals who are experiencing substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar facility, a group home can help provide an acceptable environment to help maintain stability inside their lives and also have counsel and support within reach 24/7. People who reside inside a group home may be getting involved in rehabilitation services during residence, or could be taking steps to get their life set up outside of the group home to enable them to at some point live independently away from the group home. By way of example, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or acquire work.
