Outpatient rehab makes it possible for the rehab client to take part in rehabilitation services with the same commitment one would normally have to consent to within an inpatient or residential drug rehab program. This is very helpful for many who have recently completed a far more comprehensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, or someone with only a short history of drug abuse which is usually a very small number of clients. For someone with more severe drug abuse and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment facilities which offer rehab over a long-term basis will be the more effective rehab choice.
