A group home for somebody who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and help for folks in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for people with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral problems for example. Rather than sending people who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home might help offer an appropriate environment to help maintain stability within their lives and still have counsel and assistance at their fingertips around the clock. Residents inside a group home may be involved in rehab services while in residence, or could be taking measures to get their life set up outside of the group home so that they can at some time live independently away from the group home. For instance, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent solution, yet it's a practical short term option for those who want to get their lives back together again.
