A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and help for individuals in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for those with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral problems for example. As opposed to sending individuals who are struggling with substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar facility, a group home can help provide an appropriate environment to help maintain stability within their lives and have counsel and support within reach around the clock. Residents in the group home may be taking part in rehab services while in residence, or could possibly be taking steps to get their life setup outside the group home to enable them to at some point live on their own outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent answer, but it is a feasible temporary option for those who want to get their lives back together again.
