Being diagnosed with HIV/AIDS may trigger drug abuse, or dangerous sexual behavior because of drug abuse could have caused to contract the disease. People who have HIV/AIDS, either because of their substance abuse or as a pre-existing problem prior to their drug abuse problem, typically require treatment services tailored to meet their specific demands and challenges. Some of these challenges are physical in nature, due to the fact that drug users with HIV/AIDS rarely care for themselves and take the appropriate medicines they need to preserve their own health. Therefore, these individuals arrive to rehab in very poor health and this will have to be handled as a priority while also dealing with other important concerns.
