Individuals who would like to maintain a lot of flexibility in their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab when they need rehab for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab makes it possible for the rehab client to participate in rehabilitation services without the commitment you might ordinarily have to agree to in an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment center. People that choose an outpatient rehab will usually take part in meetings and be a part of therapy and rehab services on a part-time basis each day or a few days per week. This is very helpful for those who have just completed a far more complete inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or maintenance step, or for someone with only a brief history of drug use which is usually a really small percentage of clients. For somebody with more severe addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab centers which offer rehab over a long-term basis will probably be the more effective treatment option.
