TRICARE is health insurance that's offered to individuals in the military of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is much more common than one would think, and the need to offer rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence such as detox services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will obviously be asked to obtain a prior approval before taking part in any sort of treatment service, which may be organized using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility could be the preferred rehabilitation choice, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in such a center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits about how long a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling that may be very useful, as it can help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery.
