Medicare is a type of health insurance created by the government for senior citizens, along with individuals with certain disabilities and illnesses. If a person who has Medicare needs rehab for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will be either covered entirely by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The one exception is, the individual will need to obtain treatment coming from an alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to start rehab, they will also have to see their primary care physician who must state that treatment services are medically necessary, and the physician will typically approve which kind of treatment the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of treatment services. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual should be in a hospital for their problem, and the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment in a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance or they will have to self pay.
