Offering gender-specific rehabilitation services has proven beneficial in situations where conventional rehab facilities have not meet expectations, for example dealing with situations in the women's life which can be distinctive and traumatic. Such issues may relate to sexual abuse, physical abuse, mental abuse, eating disorders, one's family and being a mother, and other serious issues which are specific to women. Women also utilize the constructive support from other female peers, and some centers which offer rehab services to women also provide client beds for their young children.
