A group home for somebody who has been involved in alcohol and drug abuse is a place which provides continual support and assistance for people in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for folks with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. Rather than sending people who are struggling with substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar place, a group home will help offer an acceptable environment to help individuals maintain stability within their lives and still have counsel and support at their fingertips 24/7. People who reside in the group home could be taking part in rehab services whilst in residence, or might be taking actions to get their life setup outside the group home in order to at one point live independently not in the group home. By way of example, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent option, but it is a viable short term option for those who are attempting to get their lives back together.
