Medicare is a type of health insurance created by the federal government for older folks, along with those that have specific disabilities and sicknesses. If someone who has Medicare needs rehab for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehab will either be covered entirely by their Medicare insurance or to a great extent. The one exception is, the person will need to obtain treatment coming from an alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to begin rehab, they will also have to visit their primary care physician who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically essential, and the doctor will typically approve what sort of rehabilitation the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover various kinds of rehabilitation services. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center if the individual needs to be hospitalized because of their problem, and the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab inside a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance coverage or they're going to have to self pay.
