A group home for a person who has been involved in alcohol and drug abuse is a facility which provides continual support and help for people in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for individuals with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral problems for example. As an alternative to sending individuals who are experiencing substance abuse or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar facility, a group home might help offer an acceptable environment to help sustain stability in their lives and still have counsel and assistance within reach around the clock.
