TRICARE is medical insurance which is provided to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is more common than one would assume, and the necessity to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to deal with alcohol and drug dependence like detox services, as well as treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People with TRICARE will of course be asked to obtain a prior authorization before taking part in any kind of rehab service, which is often arranged using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility will be the preferred treatment option, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in that facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits concerning how much time a TRICARE member can stay in the inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which is often very beneficial, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are professional rehab counselors ready to assist you today.
