Individuals who would like to maintain a lot of flexibility in their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab when they need rehabilitation for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the rehab client to participate in rehab services with the same commitment one would usually have to agree to in an inpatient or residential drug rehab facility. This doesn't always work in the treatment client's favor however, specifically those clients who need to resolve significant drug abuse problems. So even though an outpatient rehab may seem like an opportune possibility, it isn't for everyone. People that choose an outpatient rehab will generally take part in meetings and be a part of therapy and rehabilitation services part-time on a daily basis or a few days weekly. This is helpful for many who have recently completed an even more thorough inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, and for someone with only a brief history of drug abuse which is really a really small number of clients. For somebody with more serious drug abuse and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug rehab programs that provide rehabilitation on a long-term basis will probably be the more advantageous rehabilitation option.
