A group home for someone who has been involved in drug abuse is a place which provides continual support and help for people in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for individuals with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. Instead of sending individuals who are being affected by substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar facility, a group home may help provide an appropriate environment to help individuals sustain stability in their lives and also have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. People who reside within a group home might be taking part in rehab services whilst in residence, or might be taking measures to get their life set up outside of the group home so that they can at some point live independently outside the group home. For example, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or acquire employment. A group home is certainly not a long-term or permanent solution, but it is a viable short-term option for individuals who are attempting to get their lives back together.
