Individuals who want to maintain a lot of flexibility in their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab if they need rehabilitation for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the rehab client to participate in rehab services without the commitment one would normally have to consent to within an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. This is helpful for individuals who have recently completed a much more thorough inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, or for someone with just a brief history of drug use which is really a really small amount of clients. For an individual with more significant drug abuse and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab centers that provide rehab on a long-term basis will be the more advantageous treatment option.
