Individuals who wish to maintain some flexibility within their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab if they need treatment for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab makes it possible for the treatment client to participate in rehab services without the commitment one would usually have to agree to within an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment facility. This doesn't often work in the treatment client's favor however, specifically those clients who need to resolve substantial substance abuse issues. So while an outpatient rehab may seem like an expedient possibility, it isn't for everybody. People that do decide on an outpatient rehab will generally attend meetings and take part in therapy and rehab services on a part-time basis on a daily basis or several days each week. This can be very helpful for many who have recently completed a far more extensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or maintenance step, or for someone with only a brief history of drug use which is really a very small amount of clients. For somebody with more serious addiction and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug rehab facilities which provide rehab over a long-term basis will probably be the more beneficial rehabilitation choice.
