Medicare is a type of health insurance developed by the U.S. government for seniors, in addition to people who have certain disabilities and sicknesses. If a person that has Medicare needs treatment for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehab will be either covered fully by their Medicare insurance or to a significant degree. The only real catch is, the individual must obtain treatment from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to start rehab, they can also get to see their primary care physician who must declare that rehab services are medically needed, and the physician will generally approve what type of rehab the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehab providers. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual must be hospitalized for his or her problem, along with the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to every other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehabilitation in the Medicare accepted center, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they're going to have to self pay.
