Medicare is a form of health care insurance designed by the government for older persons, and also those that have certain disabilities and sicknesses. If someone that has Medicare needs treatment for instances of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The one exception is, the individual must obtain treatment coming from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start rehab, they will also have to see their primary care physician who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically essential, and the physician will usually approve which kind of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehabilitation solutions. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual needs to be in a hospital for his or her problem, along with the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to any other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient rehabilitation within a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance or they're going to have to self pay.
