Medicaid is a kind of health care insurance available for many people who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government funded insurance coverage. Whether an individual is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend on income however, and individuals shouldn't presume they don't qualify just because they make a good income. As an example, individuals who have a lot of dependents may be entitled to Medicaid regardless of whether they earn what would be described as a reasonable income. Medicaid can also cover the price of rehab, when someone has been abusing alcohol or drugs and needs treatment. There are several drug and alcohol rehab programs which accept Medicaid, but different states have different rules for what types of treatment are covered. Some states only include outpatient rehab services as an example while other states cover more intensive rehabilitation such as a residential stay in long-term drug rehabilitation facility. If anyone is involved with substance abuse and needs help, they could use their Medicaid health coverage to get this help. If they don't have Medicaid and in addition don't have enough cash or some other type of medical health insurance to cover treatment, they could see if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in an alcohol and drug rehab center which is approved within their state.
