Outpatient rehab allows for the rehabilitation client to participate in rehabilitation services with the same commitment one would normally have to agree to within an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. This doesn't often work in the rehab client's favor however, particularly for those individuals who need to address substantial substance abuse issues. So although an outpatient rehab may seem like an opportune possibility, it isn't for everyone. People that choose an outpatient rehab will usually take part in meetings and be a part of counseling and rehabilitation services on a part-time basis daily or several days weekly. This can be very helpful for many who have just completed an even more complete inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, or for someone with only a short history of drug use which is usually a very small amount of clients. For an individual with more significant drug abuse and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab facilities that provide rehab over a long-term basis will be the more beneficial rehabilitation choice.
