Medicare is a kind of health insurance developed by the U.S. government for older folks, in addition to individuals with specific disabilities and sicknesses. If someone who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will be either covered completely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The one exception is, the individual will have to receive treatment from the drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to start treatment, they will also have to see their doctor who must declare that treatment services are medically necessary, and the physician will generally approve what type of rehabilitation the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehabilitation providers. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility if the individual should be in a hospital for their problem, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to any other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance or they'll have to self pay.
