Individuals who wish to maintain some flexibility in their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab if they need rehab for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the rehab client to take part in rehab services without the commitment one would normally have to consent to in an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab facility. This doesn't always work in the treatment client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to resolve significant drug abuse issues. So even though an outpatient rehab might appear to be an opportune possibility, it isn't for everybody. People who do choose an outpatient rehab will usually take part in meetings and take part in counseling and rehabilitation services on a part-time basis every day or a few days each week. This is very helpful for individuals who have just completed a more thorough inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or maintenance step, and for someone with only a brief history of substance abuse which is really a really small percentage of clients. For an individual with more significant addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab facilities that provide rehabilitation on a long-term basis will probably be the more advantageous rehab choice.
