LGBT stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and there are facilities which address the unique needs of these clients. People who are LGBT can often feel alone, misunderstood, and seen as socially unwanted. This is often a quite challenging or painful way to live, and leads many LGBT individuals to a life of drug abuse to numb this pain. Treatment counselors within a LGBT rehab can help clients repair relationships with their loved ones, in case their family disagree with their sexual preference as is often the case. This situation is an extremely frequent trigger for abusing drugs, and it is a good example of something which can be handled in rehab. LGBT clients often would like to be accepted in their lives, and rehab will help them accept themselves and produce confidence to enable them to lead a wholesome life clear of alcohol and drugs.
