Medicare is a type of health insurance created by the U.S. government for older persons, in addition to individuals with certain disabilities and illnesses. If an individual who has Medicare needs rehab for instances of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered in full by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The only catch is, the individual will have to receive treatment coming from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to start treatment, they may also have to see their primary care physician who must declare that treatment services are medically necessary, and the physician will generally approve which kind of rehabilitation the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehabilitation services. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center in the event that the individual should be in a hospital for his or her issue, and also the costs which they willwill have to pay for personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient rehabilitation within a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
