Medicaid is a type of medical insurance available for many people who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government provided insurance coverage. Whether someone qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify because they make a good income. For example, people who have quite a few dependents may qualify for Medicaid even though they make an amount be considered a fair income. Medicaid could also cover the costs of treatment, when someone has been abusing alcohol or drugs and requires treatment. There are numerous drug and alcohol treatment facilities which accept Medicaid, but different states have distinct guidelines for what sorts of treatment are covered. Some states only include outpatient rehab services for instance while other states cover far more intensive treatment say for example a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug rehabilitation program. If somebody is involved in drug use and wants help, they could use their Medicaid health coverage to get this help. If they do not have Medicaid plus don't have the cash or another form of health care insurance to cover rehabilitation, they could see if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in an alcohol and drug treatment center that is approved inside their state.
