Medicare is a form of health care insurance developed by the federal government for older persons, and also people who have specific disabilities and illnesses. If an individual who has Medicare needs treatment for cases of substance abuse, their rehabilitation will be either covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only real catch is, the individual must acquire treatment coming from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start rehab, they can also get to see their doctor who must state that rehab services are medically essential, and the doctor will generally approve which kind of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehabilitation providers. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center when the individual needs to be in a hospital because of their issue, as well as the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to every other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment inside a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance or they'll have to self pay.
