Medicaid is a type of health insurance available for many people who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government provided insurance coverage. Whether or not an individual is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon their earnings however, and people shouldn't assume they don't qualify because they earn a fair income. There are lots of alcohol and drug treatment programs which accept Medicaid, but different states have different guidelines for what sorts of treatment are covered. Some states only cover outpatient rehab services as an example while other states cover far more extensive treatment say for example a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol treatment program. If somebody is involved in substance abuse and desires help, they can use their Medicaid insurance coverage to get this treatment. If they do not have Medicaid plus don't have the cash or another kind of health insurance to pay for treatment, they can find out if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then sign up for a drug rehab facility that is approved inside their state.
