Medicare is a type of health insurance designed by the U.S. government for older folks, as well as those that have specific disabilities and illnesses. If someone that has Medicare needs rehab for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehab will either be covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant degree. The only catch is, the individual will need to obtain treatment coming from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to commence rehabilitation, they may also have to visit their primary care physician who must declare that treatment services are medically needed, and the physician will typically approve what type of treatment the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehab solutions. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center if the individual must be hospitalized for his or her problem, along with the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab within a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
