A group home for someone who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a place which provides continuous support and assistance for those in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for those with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. As opposed to sending those who are experiencing substance abuse or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar place, a group home may help offer an acceptable environment to help individuals maintain stability in their lives and still have counsel and assistance within reach around the clock. People who reside in a group home could be involved in treatment services while in residence, or may be taking measures to get their life setup outside of the group home so that they can at some time live independently not in the group home. For instance, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent option, yet it's a feasible temporary option for those who are trying to get their lives back together again.
