Medicaid is a form of health care insurance available for individuals who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to acquire this government funded insurance coverage. Whether a person is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend on income however, and people shouldn't assume they don't qualify just because they earn an acceptable income. For instance, people who have many dependents may be entitled to Medicaid even though they earn an amount be considered a reasonable income. Medicaid may also cover the costs of rehabilitation, if someone has been abusing drugs or alcohol and requires treatment. There are numerous alcohol and drug treatment programs which accept Medicaid, but different states have different rules for what kinds of rehabilitation are covered. Some states only include outpatient rehab services as an example while other states cover far more intensive treatment say for example a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol treatment facility. If someone is involved with drug use and desires help, they could use their Medicaid insurance coverage to get this treatment. If they do not have Medicaid and also don't have the funds or any other form of medical insurance to cover rehab, they could find out if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in a drug treatment center that is approved inside their state.
