TRICARE is medical health insurance which is offered to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. TRICARE covers many different treatment services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence such as detoxification services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. Those that have TRICARE will naturally need to have a prior authorization before taking part in any kind of rehab service, that may be organized using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program could be the preferred treatment choice, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this particular facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits concerning just how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which can be very helpful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process.
