Medicare is a form of health care insurance created by the government for older folks, as well as individuals with certain disabilities and illnesses. If a person who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their rehabilitation will either be covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The one catch is, the individual will have to obtain treatment from the drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin rehab, they may also have to visit their physician who must state that rehab services are medically necessary, and the physician will usually approve which kind of rehab the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of treatment services. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center in the event that the individual has to be hospitalized because of their issue, and the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to any other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment inside a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
