Medicare is a type of health care insurance designed by the government for senior citizens, and also people with certain disabilities and illnesses. When someone who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered fully by their Medicare insurance or to a significant degree. The one exception is, the person will have to receive treatment from the drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start treatment, they may also have to see their primary care physician who must state that treatment services are medically needed, and the physician will usually approve what sort of rehab the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehabilitation providers. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual needs to be in a hospital because of their problem, along with the costs which they willwill have to cover personally are the same as any other stay in a hospital. Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab within a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance or they're going to have to self pay.
