TRICARE is medical health insurance that's provided to individuals in the military of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is much more common than one would assume, and the necessity to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers a number of treatment services to deal with drug and alcohol dependence such as detoxification services, and also rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People with TRICARE will obviously need to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any sort of treatment service, which may be arranged using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center could be the favored treatment choice, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in such a facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits about just how long a TRICARE member can stay in the inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which can be very beneficial, as it can help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert rehabilitation counselors waiting to help today.
