A group home for someone who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a place which provides continual support and help for those in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for those with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral difficulties for example. Rather than sending those who are experiencing substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home will help offer an appropriate environment to help individuals maintain stability within their lives and also have counsel and support within reach 24/7. People who reside in the group home could be getting involved in treatment services whilst in residence, or may be taking steps to get their life set up outside of the group home in order to at some point live on their own not in the group home. For instance, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is certainly not a long-term or permanent option, yet it's a viable short-term option for many who want to get their lives back together.
