Medicare is a type of medical insurance designed by the U.S. government for older persons, in addition to those that have certain disabilities and sicknesses. If an individual who has Medicare needs rehab for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will be either covered completely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The one exception is, the person must obtain treatment from an alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to commence rehab, they will also have to visit their doctor who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically necessary, and the doctor will typically approve which kind of rehab the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover various kinds of rehab solutions. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual has to be hospitalized for his or her problem, and also the costs which they willwill have to cover personally are identical to every other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab in a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance or they'll have to self pay.
