Medicaid is a kind of medical health insurance available for individuals who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government funded insurance. Whether someone is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend on income however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify simply because they earn a fair income. For example, individuals who have many dependents may be eligible for Medicaid even if they make what would be described as a reasonable income. Medicaid may also cover the price of treatment, if a person has been abusing drugs or alcohol and needs rehab. There are many drug and alcohol treatment centers which accept Medicaid, but various states have different guidelines for what types of rehab are covered. Certain states only cover outpatient rehab services as an example while other states cover far more extensive rehabilitation like a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug rehab center. If a person is involved in drug use and needs help, they can use their Medicaid insurance coverage to get this help. If they do not have Medicaid plus don't have the funds or another type of medical insurance to pay for rehab, they could see if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in a drug and alcohol treatment center that is approved within their state.
